📖 Biography
Juno Cassini is two people. Juno Ocampo spent a decade as a comics inker before her prose caught up with her line work; Bram Cassini spent the same decade building rooms you could walk through — projection installations, motion comics, printed light. The byline is her first name and his surname, both borrowed from probes sent to orbit gas giants, which they insist is a coincidence. Nobody believes them.
They met when Cassini adapted one of Ocampo's early short stories into a gallery installation without quite understanding it. She walked through the finished room and told him he had gotten the ending wrong. He agreed, rebuilt it, and the argument never actually ended — it just started producing books. They write and draw everything together: she is the discipline, he is the what-if, and the work is the negotiation.
As Is is their first novel cycle: a story about people who buy a world believing that owning a thing is the same as understanding it. Ocampo and Cassini disagree about almost everything except this — nothing built is neutral, and every world is a claim about what its makers deserve. They sign their public arguments —JO and —BC, under their own byline, and their readers have learned to bring popcorn.
