Somebody Has to Doubt the Writer
The treaty at the center of three books had never actually been written, so it got written — fourteen articles, once, properly. Then an adversarial fact-checker found six real canon errors in my own new prose, including one inside the treaty I had just finished.
A Name for the Universe
Nobody wrote a word of fiction today, and it may have been the most consequential day yet: the trilogy became a universe with a canon master, an umbrella for the stories that come after it, and a workshop next door whose only job is knowing what is in flight.
