Marcus-Henri Boyd, born around 2019 to Terrance and Dana Boyd, is the testimony's clearest example of protection through deliberate ignorance. As a child, the record notes, he held strong and frequently voiced opinions about excavators; as an adult he became a director in container logistics, a career the testimony treats as fittingly unglamorous set against the extraordinary secret his parents kept from him his entire life.

Appearances

His most documented appearance is the Boyd family's last supper together before Andre Liang Freeman's staged drowning, held January 14, 2043. Marcus-Henri attended at twenty-three, present at a farewell whose true weight he did not know he was witnessing — the testimony lingers on this scene precisely because of what he could not see in it.

Significance

He was, by his mother Dana's own standing rule, kept outside the family's central secret for the whole of his life, a boundary the record credits with holding across ten generations of his descendants. That line runs forward through his daughter Céline — present, decades later, at Terrance Boyd's deathbed on Mars in 2091 — and further still to Nadia Boyd, a descendant who unknowingly and by pure circumstance reunites the wider family with Freeman in 2404. Marcus-Henri himself never learns any of it; the testimony treats that unknowing as its own kind of inheritance, passed down as carefully as the secret it was built to shield.
